The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)

The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the international organizations in Vienna Mr. Mikhail Ulyanov met in Laxenburg on 27 March with Director General of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis Professor Pavel Kabat. Senior diplomats of the Permanent Mission and managing staff members of the Institute participated in the meeting.

The role of the Institute as a good platform for maintaining open dialog and high level of international cooperation was confirmed.      

Issues related to intensification of collaboration under the auspices of the Institute’s current major international research project «Challenges and opportunities of economic integration within a wider European and Eurasian Space» as well as IIASA’s Arctic Futures Initiative were discussed.

Problems concerning further joint steps as per development of scientific diplomacy and expansion of bilateral interaction within the framework of topical for Russia issues like demography, energy, water consumption and others were touched upon.
